Liliana Segre, the mural in Milan that nails the left –

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

Liliana Segre and Sami Modiano with Auschwitz uniform and bulletproof vest in aleXsandro Palombo’s mural against rampant anti-Semitism. He appeared in Milan the day after the hate cartels against the life-long Holocaust survivor senator in the pro-Palestine demonstration, and a week after the first anniversary of the Hamas attacks on 7 October. The artist posted the new work on his Instagram page with the caption “Anti-Semitism, History Repeating.” The mural portrays Liliana Segre and Sami Modiano, both Holocaust survivors, wearing the Auschwitz uniform and bulletproof vest with the yellow Star of David, symbol of exclusion and extermination. The work was designed “in response to the threats, hatred and anti-Semitic attacks that were directed against the senator for life by neo-communist exponents of the CARC (The Party of Support Committees for the Resistance for Communism) during the demonstration -Palestine which was held on Saturday in Piazzale Loreto in Milan, one week after the first anniversary of the Hamas attacks of 7 October”.
