Medellín vibrated with the lighting ritual of the 2024 Christmas Lighting, a giant display that pays tribute to December traditions through the theme Medellín: manger of light. Locals and tourists will be able to enjoy this show until January 12, from 6:00 in the afternoon until 12:00 at night. The inauguration was full of emotions thanks to the different cultural displays and of course, technology was also present with the display of different figures using drones held in the air.

At the ceremony, Tribute was also paid to maestro Fernando Botero through the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestrawith a sample of the musical piece Al Suit Botero, a work that the Antioquian maestro knew in life. One of the new features this year is that the lighting is efficient in energy consumption. During the 46 days of ignition, its energy is equivalent to the consumption of Medellín in 11.3 minutes.

EPM reported that this year, the Christmas Lighting of the river has a screen-type string curtain, with 792 thousand light points, in which Christmas landscapes and images are presented. This screen is the largest in the world installed over a water basin. The screen is interspersed with the monumental figures on the river, giving a 3D effect.

Parques del Río Medellín is the main stage where you can see the monumental figures and LED screens that tell stories through different designs and animations. In this place, there are the central figures of the manger, with a large welcome portal, the inns, the birth, the crops and the light pavilions, which are an immersive space. On this route, the figure of the birth stands out, with a height of 15 meters.
