Today at 8:10 I drove my car down the traditional street. “by the river” in Dragalevtsi to the called Cemetery Park.
I always drive slowly there because I give way to cars going uphill. They are not many, but I just passed a car and about 20 meters in front of me a naked man jumped out with a huge knife in his hand. I thought I was going crazy and just kept saying to myself “think! think!” The man was walking towards me, I had no doubt that I was not hallucinating. I slowed down, I was going to run him over. Think! Think! The man leaned against the hood and headed for my door.
I drove up slowly in horror, he opened my door and touched my neck with his knife. I hit the gas, but he wouldn’t let go of my door and ran with the car. I gave more gas. He was still running with the car and probably screaming. I thought he couldn’t take it much longer and I felt he was gone. I didn’t look back. I knew I had saved myself, but I assumed he was rolling on the ground, thrown out by the momentum…
This all happened in maybe less than 10 seconds.
I was already at the square, I stopped and asked a young man to stay with me while I called 112. They accepted my signal.
I went into the pharmacy, then the grocer, to ask if they knew of such a person in the neighborhood. No one knew anything.”
