The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search at the residence of Djan Faridz, a former member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), located on Jalan Borobudur, menteng, Central Jakarta, early Thursday morning (January 23). This raid is directly linked to the ongoing inquiry into allegations of bribery surrounding the appointment of interim replacements (PAW) for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2019-2024 period.
The KPK is focusing on a case involving Harun Masiku, a former legislative candidate from the indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in the 2019 elections. Masiku is suspected of bribing former General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to secure his appointment as a DPR member through the PAW mechanism.
