“Thank you for having me. This proposal is nothing short of a disaster waiting to happen. It completely disregards the rights and agency of Palestinians in Gaza, treating them like pawns in a geopolitical game. Relocating them, even to countries like Egypt and Jordan, would be a monumental humanitarian crisis, uprooting families, severing communities, and creating untold suffering.”
The Trump governance has repeatedly used the term “real estate deals” in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. How concerning is this language, particularly in the context of a region with such a complex history?
“Using such language is deeply troubling. It reduces the lives and aspirations of millions of people to mere commodities. The conflict is not about property or transactions; it’s about fundamental human rights,self-determination,and justice.This simplistic, transactional approach perpetuates the very issues that fuel the conflict.”
The proposal also raises questions about US neutrality and the role of the international community. What are your thoughts on how the international community should respond?
“This proposal demands a united and forceful condemnation from the international community. It undermines decades of international law and consensus on the two-state solution. The international community must stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, reject this unilateral and harmful proposal, and urge immediate negotiations based on international law and a commitment to a just and lasting peace.”
What message do you have for the people of Gaza in light of this proposal?
“To the people of Gaza, I want to say that you are not alone. The world is watching, and we stand with you in your struggle for justice, dignity, and a future free from occupation and oppression. Do not lose hope.Keep your voices strong, your spirits high, and your commitment to justice unwavering. The fight for your rights continues, and the world will not stand idly by.”
