However, an arrest warrant was subsequently issued for LaSota after she failed to appear in court.

Zajko, despite being deemed a person of interest in the fatal shooting of U.S. Border Patrol agent David Maland, was released and has not faced charges related to her parents’ deaths or agent Maland’s killing.

German national Ophelia Bauckholt, a follower of LaSota’s, was fatally shot last month during a shootout with Border Patrol agents in Vermont. According to an FBI affidavit, Bauckholt drew a firearm during a traffic stop, which led to an exchange of gunfire. Bauckholt and Agent Maland died in the incident. The person traveling with Bauckholt, Teresa Youngblut, has pleaded not guilty to firearms charges.
