This unique production, featuring over 120 dancers from the RTU TDA Vector dance company, is a choreographic journey through the transformative power of spring.Under the direction of Reinis Suhanovs, with choreography by Dagmar Barbale and original music by Martins Milevskis, “Auli” weaves together the magic of nature with the human experience.

The performance includes a live orchestra performing the evocative score, as well as vocal performances by Ieva Sutugova, Beata Sweden, and Zane Dombrovska. Renowned musicians Otto Trapans (violin), Kokler Latvīte Cirse (cello), and Jānis Kalniņš (guitar) from the Mm orchestra add depth and richness to the musical tapestry.

Director Reinis suhanovs draws inspiration from Edward Virza’s poem “Streams,” specifically the excerpt “Spring.” “It guides the fence of the idealistic fields already living in the city, thus from a modern person’s point of view. We can take a lot of this job for ourselves, because both the state and the nation are still related to the processes, laws and blessings of our land,” Suhanovs explains, highlighting the enduring relevance of Virza’s words in today’s world.

Since its premiere at the 65th anniversary celebration of TDA Vector on April 12, 2024, at the kipsala Exhibition Hall in Riga, “Auli” has captivated audiences.

The performance was nominated for several prizes at the Dance Prize and its music received a nomination for the latvian Music Record of the Year Award – Gold Microphone. responding to overwhelmingly positive audience feedback, the creators decided to embark on a nationwide tour, bringing the magic of “Auli” to cities across Latvia.
