Sarah Miller: Absolutely! The Rahway Library Book Sale is more than just an opportunity to find great reads at amazing prices. It’s a vital fundraiser for the Friends of the Rahway Public Library.All the proceeds go directly towards supporting the library’s programs, services, and resources.

archyde: Speaking of sales, what can attendees expect in terms of the book selection and the overall event schedule?

Sarah Miller: We’ll have a wide variety of genres and authors, something for everyone! The sale officially opens to the public on Friday, april 4th and Saturday, April 5th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Though, Friends of the Library members get exclusive early access on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 5 to 7:30 PM. It’s a great perk for joining, and new memberships can be processed right then and there!

The Friends’ Role in Supporting the Rahway Library

Archyde: The Friends group plays a notable role. Can you elaborate on the impact the Friends of the Rahway Public Library have on the library’s ability to serve the Rahway community?

Sarah Miller: We’re a passionate group of volunteers committed to supporting the library’s mission. We raise funds through events like the book sale, fundraising dinners, and other fun activities.As 2010, we’ve raised thousands of dollars that have directly enhanced the library’s programs, resources, and even contributed to its expansion into the new state-of-the-art facility. with 24 staff and over 98,000 items, giving money back allows them to utilize the resources best. The Rahway Library is one of the best libraries because of the Friends.

Archyde: What is the most rewarding aspect of being part of the Friends of the Rahway Public Library, and what message would you like to share with those considering attending the book sale or becoming a member?

Sarah Miller: For me, it’s knowing that we’re making a tangible difference in the community by supporting literacy and learning for all ages. My message would be: Come to the book sale! Find your next literary treasure, support the Rahway Public Library, and consider joining the Friends.
