Breaking News: Maribel Guardia Turns 66, Reflects on Resilience and Gratitude
Monterrey – Renowned actress and singer Maribel Guardia celebrated her 66th birthday with a heart filled with gratitude and strength. Despite the immense loss of her only son, Julián Figueroa, who passed away on April 9, 2023, Guardia remains thankful for life and finds solace in her work and faith.
Honoring Life and Remembering Julián
“The more the years go by, the more thank you give to God to be alive,” said Guardia. “I thank you every breath, every beat of my heart. One does not finish learning, because life suddenly grabs you and gives you some zarandeadas, throws you and you think that you cannot stop again, but you stop, you shake, you offer it to God and you will grab it.”
Guardia’s journey over the last two years has been one of profound resilience and strength, navigated with the help of her faith and family. “I think that only from the hand of God have I managed to get ahead,” she said. “These last two years that have been so hard in my life, I have risen, thank God.”
In a poignant social media post, Guardia shared images in a swimsuit, emphasizing her gratitude for life while acknowledging the pain of her son’s passing. “And so, with a game, because it is a pain that will accompany me all my life, but with the other half of the heart full of Julian, because I know he loved me and he wanted to see me well, that I was happy, because that is why I fight every day, to get up, and thank God for every minute of life and continue forward,” she wrote.
Celebrating Life Throughutton Work and Exercise
Guardia celebrated her birthday by posting images from her exercise routines, which have helped her maintain a healthier lifestyle despite her age. “Seemingly through my work and exercising, the theater, the public, being on stage, has helped me a lot, that there dance, jump and jump,” she said. She also shares her routine, which includes Tai Chi and slower movement exercises, helpful for stretching and strengthening.
“I stretch and a little about Tai Chi, which has helped me a lot, they are slower movements, but they help you stretch and strengthen, and the truth has served me a lot,” Guardia revealed, highlighting the importance of regular exercise for both physical and mental well-being.
Gratitude as the Key to Happiness
When asked what it takes to be completely happy, Guardia’s answer was simple yet profound: her son. “First things first, my son. However, things and people are always going to need because ‘nothing is yours, not even life, or anything we accumulate,’” she said.
“And I perfectly understand that you have to live like this, learn to live like this, thank God every day,” Guardia concluded, emphasizing the importance of gratitude and resilience in navigating life’s challenges.
