The 2024-25 season marked a milestone for Big 12 women’s basketball, with at least five teams consistently ranked in The Associated press Top 25 Poll for consecutive seasons-a feat not seen since 2008-2010.
Consistent success in the NCAA tournament also defines the conference. Big 12 teams have sent multiple teams to the Sweet 16 in four of the last five tournaments and have had at least two teams in the regional semifinals in 22 of the last 25 tournaments, tying for the second-highest percentage (88%) of any league during that span.
