Failure to comply with these measures can result in fines of up to $50,000. It is also worth noting that the classification system was abolished on September 1, 2022, and operators must ensure their firm is up to date since September 2023.
Regulations for Digital Transactional Accommodation Platforms
Platforms have new obligations to verify the validity of registration numbers and previous expiration dates, and prohibit short-rental offers from unregistered establishments. Fines for non-compliance can reach up to $100,000 per offense. Additionally, these platforms must designate a representative established in Quebec, under penalty of fines up to $20,000.
