Walkenhorst Motorsport Ready for ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring with Promising Package
The ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring is set to bring excitement and high-stakes racing as Walkenhorst Motorsport prepares to tackle one of the season’s biggest challenges. The team from Melle, known for their competitive edge, has secured impressive starting positions heading into the race weekend.
Strong Lineup for the 24-Hour Battle
With a lineup comprising Mattia Drudi, Christian Krognes, David Pittard, and Nicki Thiim piloting the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Walkenhorst Motorsport boasts a powerhouse squad. Their Rapid lap times during the traditional event have raised expectations, with Christian Krognes securing an eighth-place finish in top qualifying for the SP9 Pro-AM class.
Despite a setback after top qualifying, placing the car with start number #35 on the 22nd place, the team remains optimistic. Walkenhorst Motorsport is also fielding a Charity Car for the RTL donation marathon, driven by Henry Walkenhorst, Jörg Breuer, Stefan Aust, and Christian Bollrath.
Multiple Entries Across Classes
Walkenhorst Motorsport is entering vehicles in various classes, including the Hyundai i30N in the VT2 FWD class, starting from a third-place position, driven by Niklas Abrahamsen, Sarah Ganser, Tazio Ottis, and Bennet Ehrl.
In the SP10 class, Aris Balanian, Josh Hansen, Hermann Vortkamp, and Jean-Christophe David will take the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo, set to start from ninth place.
The Team’s Strategy and Expectations
Managing Director Jörg Breuer expressed confidence ahead of the race:
“ We are very confident in the 24-hour race – our lap times are so far. Unfortunately, Nicki did not get a perfect round in top qualifying in his top qualifying, but the race is long and we know about our qualities,” he said. “In the race, we have to make a 0-defect job. With the trendy temperatures, this will be a material battle in which an extremely high pace is gone. But we are particularly happy about the damn strong performance of our Pro-AM-GT3, even if the punishment does not reflect the result. Here we will give everything that we can fight for the class victory.”
Broadcast Details for Global Viewers
The race, taking place on Saturday at 4:00 PM, will be livestreamed on YouTube, ensuring global coverage. Additionally, German Free TV station Nitro will broadcast the entire event, aiming to set a record for the longest live TV transmission of a sports event.
This race is pivotal for Walkenhorst Motorsport, not just for their competitive edge but also for the impact they can make in charitable causes through their special Charity Car. With such strong preparation and a positive outlook, Walkenhorst Motorsport is set to deliver an exciting performance come race day.
