Breaking News: Local Doctor Embraces Cycling Challenge to Promote Active Lifestyle

TUTTLINGEN, Germany – Michael Bösch, a 40-year-old internist and diabetologist at Tuttlingen Clinic, is taking a stand for a healthier lifestyle by forgoing his car during the city’s popular cycling competition. As one of the city’s street stars, Bösch is committed to cycling to work and beyond, highlighting the importance of an active lifestyle in the fight against inactivity-related illnesses.

Cycling to Work Every Day

Bösch, who lives just two kilometers from the clinic, believes that cycling to work daily should be feasible for everyone. “I see the consequences of a lack of movement every day in my practice,” explains Bösch. “Many people get sick due to inactivity, and they often use their cars for short trips. I would like to set a positive example with my participation.” This commitment is part of a larger effort to promote active living among the community.

Involving the Family in the Cycling Challenge

Michael Bösch doesn’t plan to limit his cycling to daily commutes. He intends to spend weekends riding with his family, collecting kilometers for the competition together. Last year, his family collectively cycled over 1000 kilometers, though this will be Bösch’s first year as a city road star. He acknowledges that planning around appointments and trips to the recycling center will require some logistical planning but remains enthusiastic.

Cycling in All Weather Conditions

“I’m an active cyclist all year round,” Bösch states. This dedication means he is prepared to cycle to the clinic even during night shifts, showcasing his commitment to the cause. Bösch believes that such initiatives can inspire more people to embrace cycling as a daily mode of transport, benefiting both personal health and the environment.
