Ole Miss freshman edge rusher Corey Adams has died at teh age of 18. Adams was fatally shot late Saturday night in Cordova, Tennessee.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. the shooting occurred around 10:14 p.m. outside a residence. Authorities reported five men were shot in total, with four sustaining non-critical injuries.

Deputies attempted life-saving measures on Adams at the scene. Shelby County Fire personnel later pronounced him deceased. An active homicide investigation is underway.

Ole Miss expressed its sorrow over the loss on social media. “We’re heartbroken by the passing of Corey Adams,” the team stated. Their thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
