Collision In Frudal Tunnel leaves Three Injured

A Bubil and a passenger vehicle were involved in a collision inside the Frudal Tunnel near Sogndal at approximately 11:00 local time. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene.

The Bubil overturned and came to rest on its side. A total of three individuals were impacted by the incident, prompting the dispatch of an air ambulance as a precautionary measure.

Upon arrival, Police confirmed that one occupant of the passenger car was conscious and alert, while another individual had already exited the Bubil. Initial assessments indicated all involved were awake, though shaken.

Traffic flow through the tunnel experienced notable delays in both directions.Authorities initially placed the air ambulance on standby, but later stood it down.

“All individuals involved are conscious and experiencing shock,” stated Operations Manager Tatjana Knappen. “One woman was reported to be cold and required ambulance transport. Both vehicles involved were registered to foreign entities.”

Two of the three people involved were transported to Førde Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. A dog initially reported missing was quickly located and reunited with its owner.

Recovery efforts are underway, with towing services working to clear the vehicles. The tunnel remained closed for a period, causing continued congestion on both approaches.
