Nenagh, Tipperary – September 30, 2025 – Philomena (Phil) Cleary, a woman celebrated for her kindness and devotion to family, passed away peacefully at her home in Sedgemmoor, Ardcroney, Nenagh, County Tipperary on September 29, 2025. She was 88. Her passing reunites her with her late husband, Pat.
A lifelong resident of the Tipperary region, Cleary leaves behind a legacy of warmth and community spirit. Born Philomena Larkin in Ballydonagh, Kiltormer, County Galway, she dedicated her life to her family and friends, becoming a pillar of support to many.
Phil is survived by her four daughters,Margaret,Siobhán,Irene,and Maria. She will be profoundly missed by her sons-in-law – William (Percy),Jimmy (Sheils),and Pauric (Smith) – as well as her six beloved grandchildren: Eleanor,Christine,Anna,Fiona,Cillian,and aisling. Her sisters, Madeline, and Aggie, along with a wide circle of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, and friends, mourn her loss. Special acknowledgment is given to Una, Margaret, Tom and Eileen for thier dedicated support.
phil was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bridget Larkin, and her brothers Jack, Patsy, Tom, Barney, Mick, and tony, as well as her sisters Maura, Eileen, and Kathleen.
Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at Keller’s Funeral Home, Nenagh (E45 XO94), on Wednesday, October 1st, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral cortege will arrive at St. patrick’s Church, Puckane (E45 DT27), on Thursday for funeral Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by burial in Ardcroney New Cemetery.A webstream will be available to view the Funeral Mass.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Milford Care Center.
