WVU Basketball Announces Major Student Ticketing Changes for 2025-26 & 2026-27 Seasons
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University athletics announced significant updates to student seating for men’s basketball home games today, aiming to dramatically enhance the game day atmosphere at the WVU Coliseum. The changes will be rolled out in two phases, beginning with the 2025-26 season and culminating in a fully cohesive student section by 2026-27.
First-Come, First-Served for 2025-26
In a move mirroring the successful football student ticketing model, the 2025-26 season will introduce a first-come, first-served system for student seating. This change is designed to reward the most eager Mountaineer fans with prime locations near the court.
Here’s how it will work:
* Wristband Distribution: Starting with the exhibition game against Wheeling on Sunday, October 26th, the first 1,000 students entering the Mountaineer Gate at Hope Coliseum will receive a wristband.
* Lower-Level Seating: Wristband holders will be seated in the lower-level student sections C8-C11, consolidating the previous “lower-level seated” and “lower-level standing” areas.
* Upper-Level Access: Students arriving after the initial 1,000 will be seated in upper-level sections 229-225, only after all lower-level wristbands have been distributed.
* Ticket Request Process: Students will see “Student” as the sole ticket option when requesting tickets through the online portal: https://wvugame.evenue.net/signin?&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fwvugame.evenue.net%2Fwww%2Fev_wvu%2Fss%2Fevenue%2F%23MyAccount%3FsiteId%3Dev_wvu%26locale%3Den_US%26linkID%3Dwvu. If demand exceeds capacity, a lottery system – consistent with previous years – will be used.
