Breaking: Harrisburg Tree Service Owner Charged With rape After Alleged Assault On Employee On Second Day

Law enforcement officials say two felony counts of rape have been filed against lyle Voorhees, a Shermans Dale man who owns Harrisburg Tree service, in connection with an assault on a female employee on her second day at a local job site. Prosecutors say the alleged attack occurred at the company’s premises at 4745 North Front Street.

The victim, who was on work release to obtain an identification at a nearby penndot office, accepted a job offer from Voorhees after meeting him. Her first shift was scheduled for Oct. 31, with the reported rape taking place the following day inside a supply trailer on the business property, according to charging documents.

authorities say Voorhees allegedly forced the employee onto an air mattress and assaulted her. He is accused of threatening to involve her Work Release status if she disclosed the incident or did not return to work, telling her he “has a lot of money” and “knows how the system works.” The victim reportedly continued working out of fear of punishment.

Further alleged contact occurred on Nov. 4, when Voorhees allegedly touched the victim and suggested she “wanted this.” The employee later left work early on that date due to upset. On Nov. 5, she left a note warning Voorhees that any further wrongdoing would be reported. the next day, she was fired from the job, authorities say.

Afterward, the victim contacted her probation officer to report the assault and investigators linked location data from her ankle monitor to her account, along with other evidence found at the scene. On the basis of these findings, the Susquehanna Township Police Department charged Voorhees with two felonies related to rape. Court records indicate he has not yet been arrested.
