Investigators say a second accuser has joined a widening case involving veteran actor Timothy Busfield. The 68-year-old star of The West Wing is already in custody over allegations of child abuse, and new claims have been brought forward by the family of another alleged victim.

The latest progress centers on a 16-year-old girl who reportedly faced inappropriate conduct during an audition. Court documents describe Busfield kissing and touching the teenager in a Sacramento theater audition, according to the family’s report to authorities.

The alleged incident occurred at a theater founded by Busfield in 1986. originally known as Theater for Children, Inc.,it is indeed now the B Street Theater. The father of the teen, a therapist identified as Colin Swift, notified investigators on January 13. He told officers that after the audition, Busfield asked the family not to press charges and offered to pursue therapy instead. Swift indicated he believed that approach at the time.

The new allegations come a day after Busfield turned himself in to Albuquerque police. He faces charges related to the alleged sexual assault of eleven-year-old twins, whom authorities say he met on the set of the TV series The Cleaning Lady, where he served as a director from 2022 onward.

Before his arrest, Busfield released a video to TMZ in which he denied the accusations, stating, “I didn’t do anything to those little boys.” Prosecutors, however, have requested that he be kept in custody pending the upcoming hearings, describing a potential pattern of predatory behaviour.
