Working with Pierre and Andrea Gider, chair and instructor respectively of Inclu Dance, a choreography incorporating the popular VMCA dance was developed. For over two months, sixteen dancers from West Styria, ranging in age from 14 to 60, dedicated two hours each week to rehearsals at the Gider dance school in Rosental.
“We wanted to bring something truly special to the ball, something that celebrated inclusivity and the joy of movement,” explained Andrea Gider. “The response was incredible. Even the couples in their formal attire joined in our performance!” The group’s infectious energy resonated throughout the Hofburg, earning them a standing ovation and a personal photograph with State Councilor Karlheinz Kornhäusl.

The club is urgently seeking support, particularly from students and individuals who can volunteer their time to assist with classes in elementary schools and retirement homes. “Students often have more flexible schedules in the mornings,” Gider notes, “and their energy and enthusiasm would be a tremendous asset.” A donation of 500 euros was received following the Pharmacy Ball performance, but ongoing support is crucial to ensure the club’s survival.
