Nigerian Breweries: Returns to Profitability in 2025 – Revenue & Report Details

Nigerian Breweries Plc has reported a revenue of N1.467 trillion for the financial year ended December 2025, a 35% increase compared to the N1.084 trillion recorded in the corresponding period of 2024. The recovery marks a significant turnaround for the company, which faced substantial challenges in 2024 due to macroeconomic headwinds. The substantial revenue growth was attributed to sustained innovation, premiumisation strategies, appropriate pricing policies, and robust commercial execution, according to Uaboi Agbebaku, Company Secretary and Legal Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc. Gross profit likewise experienced a significant increase, rising by 77% from N320 billion in 2024 to N565 billion in 2025. Though, the Cost of Sales also increased, moving from N765 billion in 2024 to N902 billion in 2025. Operating profit grew by over 190%, and net profit rebounded by 168% due to an 83% reduction in net finance costs. The company posted a profit of N99.1 billion, reversing a N145.0 billion loss recorded in 2024. Earnings Per Share reached 319 kobo, a stark contrast to the loss per share of 1,207 kobo in the previous year. Operating profit increased to N205.2 billion. Marketing, Distribution, and Administration expenses also saw an increase, growing by 43% from N254 billion in 2024 to N364 billion in 2025. The results, released to the Nigerian Exchange Limited, indicate a strong rebound from the difficulties experienced in the prior year. The 2024 business recovery plan, focused on rigorous cost discipline, productivity gains, and supply chain efficiencies, is credited with contributing to the improved performance. Agbebaku stated that the growth in operating profit reflects the revenue increase, cost control measures, and improvements in supply chain operations stemming from the 2024 recovery plan. The company’s financial results follow a period of economic instability in Nigeria, and the turnaround is seen as a positive sign for the country’s brewing industry.
