Warsaw and Wawasee shared the Northern Lakes Conference (NLC) boys swimming title on Saturday, but Concord High School athletes delivered standout performances, highlighted by multiple individual championships and strong relay showings. The NLC meet, held on January 31, 2026, saw fierce competition, with Warsaw ultimately edging Wawasee 430 to 424 points. Concord finished a strong third with 310 points, according to results reported by Yahoo Sports.
Leading the charge for Concord was senior Ivan Blystiv, who secured victories in both the 100-yard breaststroke (58.03) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.41). Teammate Camden Stutsman similarly claimed a championship title, winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.55. These individual successes underscored Concord’s depth and talent within the conference. The team’s overall performance also built on a successful regular season, where they finished second with a 5-1-1 NLC record, placing third overall in the conference standings, as previously reported on Concord High School Athletics.
Concord’s Championship Performances
Blystiv’s double win was a key factor in Concord’s point total. His time in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM demonstrated his versatility and skill. Stutsman’s victory in the 200 freestyle further solidified Concord’s presence at the top of the NLC standings. Beyond the individual champions, several other Concord swimmers contributed to the team’s success with top-eight finishes.
The 200-yard medley relay team, comprised of Camden Stutsman, Ivan Blystiv, Alejandro Gonzalez, and Will Delio, placed third. Zach McDonald finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle, while Alejandro Gonzalez secured sixth place in the 200-yard IM. Will Delio earned a seventh-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, and Camden Stutsman placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly. Zach McDonald also took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, and Garec Combs finished seventh in the 500-yard freestyle.
Relay Successes and Honorable Mentions
Concord’s relay teams also demonstrated their competitive edge. The 200-yard freestyle relay team, featuring Ivan Blystiv, Anthony Gomez Rojas, Zach McDonald, and Will Delio, secured a second-place finish. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Zach McDonald, Anthony Gomez Rojas, Alejandro Gonzalez, and Camden Stutsman also earned a third-place spot. Concord High School Athletics also recognized Will Delio with an Honorable Mention for his contributions throughout the season.
Northridge finished fourth in the overall meet standings with 262 points, followed by Goshen (251), Plymouth (141), Mishawaka (122), and NorthWood (97.2). Warsaw’s winning 200-yard medley relay team posted a time of 1:37.66, narrowly beating Concord’s time of 1:37.72.
Looking ahead, the focus will shift to the IHSAA state championships, where Concord’s top performers will aim to continue their success on a larger stage. The NLC meet served as a crucial stepping stone, providing valuable experience and momentum for the upcoming state competition.
