Amazon Prime Video’s new eight-episode crime thriller, 56 Days, has quickly risen to the top of the streaming service’s charts in the United States, according to multiple reports. The series, which premiered on February 18, 2026, stars Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia.

The plot centers on Ciara and Oliver, who begin a passionate relationship after a chance meeting in a supermarket. However, their romance takes a dark turn when a body is discovered 56 days later in Oliver’s bathtub, prompting a homicide investigation into their relationship and the secrets it conceals.

As of February 21, 2026, 56 Days had overtaken the James Patterson crime series Cross to claim the number one spot on Prime Video, according to MovieWeb. The series has been described as an “erotic thriller” and has garnered a 60% Tomatometer score from 25 reviews and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes as of February 25, 2026. ScreenRant noted the series has a 64% Tomatometer score from 11 reviews.

The series also stars Karla Souza, Dorian Missick, and Megan Peta Hill. Shana Stein and Alethea Jones directed the series, which was written by Karyn Usher, Lisa Zwerling, and Brandon K. Hines. James Wan and Lisa Zwerling are among the executive producers.

Critics have praised Cameron and Jogia’s performances, with ScreenRant’s Matthew Rudoy noting Cameron’s “magnetic quality” and Jogia’s ability to portray “discomfort and insecurities.”
