The upcoming fighting game Invincible VS is expanding its roster with Dupli-Kate, a hero known for her ability to create multiple duplicates of herself. A gameplay trailer showcasing Dupli-Kate’s unique abilities has been released, offering a first seem at how her cloning powers translate into the game’s combat system. The addition of Dupli-Kate brings the total number of confirmed fighters to 15, with the game aiming for a final roster of 18 characters, according to developers.
Dupli-Kate, whose real name is Katherine Cha, is a prominent figure in the Invincible universe, initially appearing in the comic books and later in the animated series on Prime Video. Her power allows her to generate independent clones, each capable of thought and action, all while maintaining a telepathic link to the original. This ability forms the core of her gameplay, as demonstrated in the recently released trailer.
The gameplay trailer highlights Dupli-Kate’s strategic potential, with the character utilizing clones to overwhelm opponents. Still, the trailer too reveals a key mechanic: creating clones drains a portion of Dupli-Kate’s health. If a clone is defeated, that health is lost, adding a risk-reward element to her playstyle. Successfully returning clones to the original restores the lost health, incentivizing tactical clone management.

Invincible VS already features a diverse cast of characters, including Ella Mental, an original character created specifically for the game. Ella Mental, voiced by rapper Tierra Whack, possesses elemental powers and has not appeared in other Invincible media. According to Game Informer, Quarter Up, the game’s developer, found implementing Dupli-Kate’s cloning ability to be the most technically challenging aspect of character development.
“Once we position her on the roster, we’re like, ‘Okay, how are we going to do this?’” said game director Dave Hall in an interview with Game Informer. “It’s a lot of R&D on something like that. You don’t spot characters duplicating, right? This is not a extremely kind of normal thing to see in a game, especially in the style that we’re doing.”
The developers emphasize that Dupli-Kate’s playstyle is designed to confuse and overwhelm opponents through the sheer number of clones she can deploy, particularly during combos and special moves. The character’s unique mechanics are intended to make her a formidable opponent in the arena.
Inspired by the comic books by Robert Kirkman and the animated series on Prime Video, Invincible VS is scheduled for release on April 30, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game promises to bring the intense action and dynamic characters of the Invincible universe to the fighting game genre.
The addition of Dupli-Kate further expands the potential for strategic depth within Invincible VS, offering players a unique character with a high skill ceiling. As the release date approaches, fans can expect further reveals regarding the remaining fighters and gameplay features.
