A man died Thursday after a fire broke out in a mobile home in West Jordan, Utah. Firefighters responded to the scene shortly before 1 a.m. And found heavy smoke emanating from the residence.
The victim was discovered inside the mobile home by fire crews during a search. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to officials. His identity has not yet been released to the public.
West Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Travis Ball stated that crews were dispatched to the area of 8500 South and Susan Way at approximately 12:50 a.m. Following reports of the blaze. KUTV reports that upon arrival, firefighters encountered significant smoke coming from the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not released any information regarding potential causes or contributing factors. The State Fire Marshal and West Jordan Police are assisting with the investigation.

Neighbors reported seeing flames and smoke late Wednesday night. Randy Edginton, a nearby resident, told KSLTV he noticed a “fog” across the street around 12:35 a.m. And then saw flames coming from a window as he pulled into his driveway. He and his wife immediately called 911.
The incident occurred near Technodynamics LLC, an industrial building located on West 8500 South, and is in proximity to the Jordan Valley station, according to Mapcarta.
