NC State vs. Stanford: Senior Day & Live Game Updates | CW Broadcast

by

Raleigh, N.C. – The NC State Wolfpack (19-11, 10-7 ACC) will host the Stanford Cardinal (19-11, 8-9 ACC) on Saturday at the Lenovo Center in their final regular season home game. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET and will be televised on The CW.

NC State will recognize 11 seniors – seven student-athletes and four team managers – in a pregame ceremony beginning at 1:45 p.m. The departing players are Alyn Breed, Quadir Copeland, Scottie Ebube, Tre Holloman, Ven-Allen Lubin, Jordan Snell and Darrion Williams. Copeland, Holloman, Lubin, Snell, and Williams are set to graduate with undergraduate degrees in May or this summer, while Breed and Ebube will complete post-baccalaureate studies.

The Wolfpack is coming off a 93-64 loss to top-ranked Duke on Monday. Despite a competitive first half where they trailed by only five points with just over five minutes remaining, Duke closed the half with an 18-6 run and extended their lead early in the second half.

NC State’s offense has been fueled by a balanced attack, with four players – Darrion Williams, Ven-Allen Lubin, Quadir Copeland, and Paul McNeil, Jr. – separated by just 12 points in total scoring. All four are averaging at least 13.0 points per game, a feat achieved by only a handful of Division I teams this season. Williams leads the team with 417 total points, followed closely by Lubin and Copeland with 409 points each, and McNeil with 405.

Copeland has been a key playmaker for the Wolfpack, averaging career-highs in points (13.6), assists (6.8), steals (1.8), field goal percentage (49.8%), three-point percentage (41.1%), and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.60). He currently leads the ACC in assists and ranks among the league’s top performers in steals and assist-to-turnover ratio. With just two more assists, Copeland would become the first NC State player to reach 205+ assists in regular season play since Chris Corchiani in the 1990-91 season.

The Wolfpack’s offensive prowess extends to three-point shooting, where they rank second in the ACC and 26th nationally, averaging 10.5 made three-pointers per game. They have made 311 three-pointers this season, setting a new program record. However, their shooting has cooled recently, going 26-for-96 (27.1%) from beyond the arc in their last three games.

Ven-Allen Lubin has similarly been a consistent scorer for NC State, shooting over 50 percent from the field in all but two games this season. He leads the ACC and ranks third in the NCAA with a 68.2 shooting percentage, while averaging a career-best 13.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

NC State’s ball control has been another strength, leading the ACC and ranking 15th in the NCAA with a 1.73 assist-to-turnover ratio. They also lead the league and rank ninth nationally in turnover margin at +3.9.

Stanford enters the contest with a 19-11 overall record and an 8-9 mark in ACC play. The Cardinal defeated Notre Dame 86-78 in their most recent game, led by Ebuka Okorie’s 24 points. Stanford has consistently limited opponents’ three-point opportunities, allowing the fewest three-pointers and three-point attempts in the ACC this season, with opponents averaging just over six made threes and 18 attempts per game.

Saturday’s game will be the fourth all-time meeting between NC State and Stanford, with the Cardinal holding a 2-1 advantage in the series. The last meeting took place on February 8, 2025, in Stanford, where the Cardinal narrowly defeated the Wolfpack 74-73 on a late basket.
