Bass x Machina: Release Date, Trailer, Cast & Plot Details on Netflix

Netflix has set an October 6, 2026, release date for its upcoming adult animated series, Bass x Machina, the streaming service announced. The series, produced by South Korean studio Mir Studio, marks a significant addition to Netflix’s growing slate of animated content, joining popular titles like Naruto and Demon Slayer, which have broadened the appeal of anime to wider audiences.

Bass x Machina is executive produced by Chad Handley, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley, and Brian Tyree Henry, who also stars in the series as the titular character, Bass. Music for the show is being composed by Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder at Wondaland. The series is set in a stylized Old West environment, described as a harsh and dangerous frontier filled with strange machines and supernatural threats.

The story centers on Bass, a father driven to protect his family in a lawless land. According to Netflix, Bass has grow a vigilante, taking matters into his own hands to safeguard his loved ones, a path that inevitably leads to new conflicts and enemies. The series aims to explore themes of courage, justice, and the lengths to which one will go to protect family.

The cast includes Janelle Monáe as Glory, described as a confident and emotionally strong character; Tati Gabrielle as Dana, a younger character whose safety is central to Bass’s motivations; Cree Summer as Ahni, a wise and grounding presence; Chaske Spencer as Lighthorse, a skilled survivor; Currie Graham as Rivenbark, a figure representing authority or opposition; and Starletta DuPois as Etta, who provides emotional balance.

Mir Studio, the production company behind Bass x Machina, has a track record of successful animated projects, including Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, The Legend of Korra, My Adventures with Superman, and X-Men ‘97.

As of March 7, 2026, Netflix has not released a trailer for Bass x Machina, but anticipates one will be available 3-4 weeks prior to the October 6th release date, consistent with the company’s typical marketing timeline.

Bass x Machina will be exclusively available on Netflix, requiring a subscription for viewing.
