Nabilah O’Brien No Longer a Suspect in Defamation Case After Peace with Zendhy Kusuma

Jakarta – Selebgram Nabilah O’Brien is no longer considered a suspect in a defamation case following a peace agreement with guitarist Zendhy Kusuma, marking a resolution to a dispute that unfolded publicly over the past several months. The agreement, reached during mediation facilitated by the Indonesian National Police (Polri), includes the withdrawal of police reports filed by both parties.

Nabilah O’Brien confirmed the development after the mediation session at Polri headquarters in Jakarta on Sunday, March 8, 2026. “I forgive everything, that’s all, I’m no longer a suspect,” she stated, according to reports. The resolution signifies a turning point in a case that garnered significant public attention, particularly after an incident at a Jakarta restaurant.

The peace agreement was formalized after a meeting between the involved parties, including Zendhy Kusuma and his wife, Evi Santi, as well as Nabilah O’Brien and her legal representative, KDH. Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Public Information Bureau of Polri’s Public Relations Division, confirmed that all parties had signed the agreement and subsequently withdrawn their respective police reports. “Each party has carried out the withdrawal of reports at the respective reporting units,” Andiko said Sunday evening.

According to Polri, the mediation process followed an analysis of two separate reports filed by both sides – one at the Mampang Police Precinct in South Jakarta and another at Polri’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim). The police initiative aimed to find common ground and facilitate a peaceful resolution. The agreement also stipulates the removal of any potentially defamatory content from social media platforms, a key component of the reconciliation.

Timeline of the Dispute

The origins of the conflict trace back to an incident on September 19, 2025, at the Bibi Kelinci restaurant in Kemang, South Jakarta. Zendhy Kusuma and his wife ordered 11 food items and three drinks, totaling Rp 530,150, but left the restaurant without paying after a disagreement reportedly occurred in the kitchen area. This incident led to a series of accusations and counter-accusations, ultimately resulting in the filing of police reports.

Nabilah O’Brien was initially named a suspect on February 28, 2026, by the Directorate of Cyber Crime at Bareskrim Polri, facing allegations of violating the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) related to defamation and slander. Zendhy Kusuma filed the initial report against her. Simultaneously, Zendhy and his wife also faced a report filed by Nabilah at the Mampang Prapatan Police on February 24, 2026.

Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko emphasized that the Polri’s intervention and the subsequent mediation were driven by a commitment to delivering justice to all parties involved. He added that the timing of the resolution, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, underscored the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation. “This is a form of worship that is full of blessings, then silaturahmi (strengthening ties) and mutual introspection,” Andiko stated.

The Polri hopes the outcome will provide a sense of justice not only for Nabilah O’Brien and Zendhy Kusuma but also for the wider public. The resolution highlights the potential for peaceful conflict resolution through mediation and the importance of addressing disputes in a constructive manner.

Looking ahead, the focus will be on ensuring the full implementation of the peace agreement, including the removal of contentious content from social media. The case serves as a reminder of the legal ramifications of online interactions and the importance of responsible social media usage.
