Hoboken Spring Vibes: 60°+ Weather & Hidden Gems

by

Hoboken residents are exhibiting signs of anticipating spring weather, with a noticeable shift in activity following temperatures reaching 50 degrees Fahrenheit, according to observations shared by local media outlet The Hoboken Girl. The change in weather has prompted a surge in outdoor activity, particularly along Washington Street, where people are gathering at restaurants and cafes.

The trend was initially noted through a social media prompt from The Hoboken Girl, asking residents to complete the phrase, “It’s 50 degrees in Hoboken and suddenly everyone is…” Responses indicated a collective desire to move outdoors after the winter months. Alongside increased foot traffic on Washington Street, residents are also spending more time on the waterfront, engaging in walking, running, and photography, the outlet reported.

The approaching warmer weather is also influencing social plans, with a marked increase in group chat messages proposing outings. Demand for frozen treats has also risen, and there’s a growing number of people training for the upcoming 5K races, according to the observations. Outdoor brunch plans are also becoming more common.

The Hoboken Spring Arts + Music Festival is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 17th, with a rain date of May 31st. The festival, which will be held along Washington Street, is expected to feature over 300 artists, crafters, food vendors, and live music performances. Vendor applications opened on March 2nd and will remain open until capacity is reached. The festival previously featured Grammy-nominated musician Brenda K. Starr as a headliner.

Additional events scheduled for the week of March 9th, 2026, include a PERM Art Indicate at the William Brennan Courthouse in Jersey City, a Secret Garden Exhibit at Art House Productions, and free Toastmasters meetings. Little City Books in Hoboken will host a free event with author Erin Crosby Eckstine and Jordan Hernandez. A pop-up event featuring Hank Schwartz’s Delicatessen is planned at The Cliff in Jersey City, and a Women’s History Month event will be held at the Gabert Library Building in Jersey City. Jazz Night at 87 Sussex is also scheduled in Jersey City, along with free acting classes at Art House Productions.
