Latvia is gearing up to host the 2026 European U-18 Volleyball Championship for women, in a collaborative effort with Lithuania. This marks the first time the two Baltic nations will jointly organize a championship of this scale, signaling a growing prominence of volleyball in the region. The event is particularly significant for Latvia, as it will be the first time the country has hosted a U-18 European Championship since the men’s tournament in 2005, bringing the competition back to the Baltic states after over two decades.
The joint bid underscores a commitment to developing volleyball at the youth level and fostering greater international cooperation. Latvia’s U-18 men’s team is currently preparing for upcoming competitions, including qualification rounds for the 2026 European Championship, demonstrating the nation’s dedication to the sport.
