2026 Fuel & Fertilizer Support Payments: Dates & Updates

Turkish farmers are closely monitoring the timeline for the 2026 mazot (fuel oil) and fertilizer subsidies, a crucial support system provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. With agricultural production costs remaining a significant concern, producers are eager for clarity on when these vital funds will be disbursed.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s support for the agricultural sector is a key component of the Turkish economy. These subsidies aim to alleviate the financial burden on farmers, ensuring continued production and contributing to national food security. The anticipation surrounding the payment schedule is high, as farmers rely on these funds for essential inputs.

Recent updates indicate a significant adjustment to the subsidy system for 2026. According to TarımTR, the support amounts have been updated with a new coefficient system and a planned production model, aiming to reduce production costs for farmers. The “Basic Support” has been unified, and farmers engaged in basin-based production may receive payments up to double the per-decare amount.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on February 21, 2026, that payments to plant producers would begin, with 81 billion lira in basic and planned production support expected to be transferred to farmers’ accounts within a month, as reported by CNN Türk. This announcement has heightened expectations among the agricultural community.

2026 Support Rates and Calculation

The 2026 production year’s basic support coefficient has been set at 310 TL per decare, a 27% increase from the 244 TL in 2025, according to CNN Türk. This figure represents the minimum amount farmers can expect to receive, with the final amount varying based on the type of crop planted. Here’s a breakdown of the per-decare payments based on crop type:

  • Barley, Wheat, Rye, and Oats: 403 TL (1.3 coefficient)
  • Rice and Cotton: 697.5 TL (2.25 coefficient)
  • Sunflower, Hazelnut, Soybean, and Canola: 465 TL (1.5 coefficient)
  • Legumes and Root Crops: 310 TL (1.0 coefficient)

Farmers participating in planned production initiatives are eligible for doubled payments, making this aspect of the new model particularly attractive.

Checking Payment Status

Farmers can easily check the status of their payments through the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) using their T.C. Identity number and e-Government password, as noted in multiple reports including CNN Türk. This online system provides a convenient way for producers to stay informed about their subsidy disbursements.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has not yet released a detailed payment calendar beyond the initial announcement of disbursements beginning in March 2026. Farmers are advised to monitor the Ministry’s official channels for further updates and specific dates.

As the agricultural sector navigates ongoing economic challenges, these subsidies remain a critical lifeline for Turkish farmers. The implementation of the updated system and the timely distribution of funds will be crucial for supporting agricultural production and ensuring food supply stability in the coming year. The next key checkpoint will be the release of the detailed payment schedule by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
