Artificial intelligence firm Anthropic will add 200 jobs in Dublin, Ireland, by 2027, with some positions offering salaries up to €355,000, as the company expands its European operations to meet growing demand for its AI services.
The OpenAI rival announced the expansion plans, which will increase its Dublin office footprint to 21,000 square feet, citing a need to serve a surge in enterprise demand across Europe. Anthropic is actively recruiting for roles in sales, engineering, finance, legal and compliance and operations, according to a company statement.
“We’re expanding our Irish operations to meet strong enterprise demand across Europe,” said Anthropic cofounder Daniela Amodei. “What we hear consistently from Europe’s largest businesses is that they desire AI they can trust – systems that are safe, reliable and built with their interests in mind. That’s exactly what Anthropic exists to provide and Dublin is the ideal base to deliver it.” Amodei added that the talent pool in Dublin is “exceptional” and expressed pride in deepening the company’s commitment to Ireland.
Current job postings include positions for account executives, commercial counsel, and software engineers, with advertised salaries reaching €355,000 for select roles. Product management positions are also available, with starting salaries at €85,000, depending on experience.
Anthropic initially announced plans to establish a Dublin office in 2024 as part of its broader European growth strategy. The latest expansion follows a $30 billion Series G funding round, which valued the company at $380 billion (€330 billion), according to reports.
The company, developer of the Claude chatbot, has experienced a significant increase in demand for its services, with revenue in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa growing elevenfold year-over-year. Existing customers in Ireland include Wayflyer, Manna, and Tines.
Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed the expansion, stating that it “is a strong vote of confidence in our thriving technology ecosystem and our position as a global hub for AI innovation.” He highlighted Ireland’s world-class research, skilled workforce, and pro-innovation policies as key factors in attracting investment.
Dónal Travers, executive director of IDA Ireland, noted Anthropic’s alignment with the Republic’s Digital and AI Strategy 2030, which aims to strengthen the digital economy and position Ireland as a global hub for applied AI. He stated that artificial intelligence has been identified as a key driver of investment growth within IDA Ireland’s strategy.
Anthropic was founded in 2021 by Dario and Daniela Amodei, along with other former OpenAI employees who left the company following disagreements over its direction after a $1 billion investment from Microsoft in 2019.
The company maintains offices in London, Paris, Zurich, and Munich, in addition to its Dublin location.
