Australian indie rock band Spacey Jane has unveiled their latest single, “Do You Really Love Her,” accompanied by a music video, and simultaneously announced an extensive U.S. Summer tour. This marks the band’s first recent music release since the critically acclaimed album, If That Makes Sense, solidifying their presence in the international music scene.
The new single, penned on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles with collaborators Sarah Aarons and Joel Little, and produced by John Hill, draws heavily from the sounds of classic Australian pub rock. Frontman Caleb Harper explained the song’s journey, stating, “For some reason the song didn’t feel like the right fit for the album but we always wanted it to see the light of day.” The band cites influences like INXS, The Church, and Icehouse as both nostalgic and inspirational to their sound.
Harper described the release of “Do You Really Love Her” – and subsequent tracks – as a creative exploration. “This release and the others to follow are almost experiments,” he said. “Songs we love that didn’t end up on an album. Something we want to share while we take stock, and reset.”
U.S. Tour Dates and Festival Appearances
The If That Makes Sense Tour kicks off June 2nd in New Haven, Connecticut, and includes appearances at several major music festivals. Spacey Jane will perform at Governors Ball Music Festival on June 6th, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on June 14th, and Osheaga Festival on August 2nd. The band will also join Rainbow Kitten Surprise as support on a series of amphitheater dates throughout July, with stops scheduled for the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on July 21st and Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Denver on July 25th. Artist presale for tour tickets begins March 17th at 10 a.m. Local time, with the general on-sale following on March 20th.
Live Album and Recent Accolades
In addition to the new single and tour, Spacey Jane will be releasing Live at The Hordern Pavilion (Sydney, NSW) 2025 on Record Store Day this April. The live album captures performances from three sold-out nights at the iconic Sydney venue.
The band’s third studio album, If That Makes Sense, achieved significant success, debuting at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album also garnered nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Video at the 2025 ARIA Awards. Spacey Jane was further recognized as the most played artist on Triple J for the year. Their 2020 debut album, Sunlight, produced the hit single “Booster Seat,” which earned an ARIA Award for Song of the Year and has been certified 7x platinum.
Spacey Jane’s continued success demonstrates their growing influence within the indie rock landscape. The band’s willingness to experiment with unreleased material, as evidenced by the release of “Do You Really Love Her,” suggests a dynamic approach to their artistry and a commitment to connecting with fans beyond traditional album cycles.
With a busy summer of touring and a new live album on the horizon, Spacey Jane is poised to continue building momentum and expanding their fanbase. Fans can anticipate further releases of previously unreleased material as the band enters a period of creative exploration and reflection.
