Staropramen Beer Now Available in Latvia – Aldaris Distribution Deal

Latvian brewery AS Aldaris has secured exclusive distribution rights for the Czech beer brand Staropramen in Latvia, the company announced this week. The move is part of a broader regional strategy by Aldaris’s parent company to expand its “premium” beer offerings across the Baltic states.

Staropramen, brewed in Prague since 1869, is now available in over 40 markets globally and is part of the Molson Coors Beverage Company portfolio. According to a press release, Aušra Vasiļjeviene, AS “Aldaris” Board Member and Sales Director, stated the company is “always striving to combine local beer brewing traditions with international experience.”

The acquisition of Staropramen distribution rights in Latvia is strategically aligned with similar agreements reached by sister breweries Švyturys-Utenos Alus in Lithuania and Saku Brewery in Estonia, indicating a coordinated expansion plan throughout the region. Prior to this agreement, Staropramen was distributed in Latvia by the wholesale company Sanitex.

Aldaris, a subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group, reported a 6.7% increase in turnover in 2024, reaching 30.112 million euros. However, the company’s losses tripled during the same period, rising to 3.673 million euros, according to data from Firmas.lv.

The expansion into premium international beers reflects a growing consumer demand in Latvia for diverse and high-quality beverage options, according to Aldaris. The company aims to capitalize on Staropramen’s established reputation and global reach to meet this demand.
