A 2-year-old girl in a stroller fatally hit by a vehicle in Montreal North

A 2-year-old girl died and her mother was injured following being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday morning in Montreal North.

The tragedy occurred around 9 a.m., at the corner of Fleury and Récollets streets.

According to authorities, the woman was walking with her little girl strapped in her stroller when a vehicle hit them.

The stroller would have been dragged for several meters.

Seriously injured, the little girl was rushed to hospital, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead.

His mother escaped with lower body injuries that were not life-threatening.

The intersection has been completely closed to traffic for investigation purposes.
