A woman in a wheelchair was seriously injured following being hit Friday morning by a car in the Dorval area on Highway 520.

Around 4:15 a.m., a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 520 struck a pedestrian, a woman in a wheelchair, near Marshall Avenue in the Dorval sector. The victim was taken to a hospital and there are fears for his life, said Sureté du Québec (SQ) publicist Hélène Saint-Pierre.

The driver reportedly suffered a nervous shock following the accident.
The collision investigation section of the SQ went to the scene, but the cause of the accident remains unknown.
