Thrissur: After Argentina won the football world cup, the hotel owner, who is a fan of Argentina, kept his word. Shibu, the owner of the ‘Rockland’ hotel in Pallimula, Thrissur, had announced that he would give free biryani if Argentina won the World Cup. Shibu kept his promise following Argentina cheated and started serving biryani at the hotel from 11.30 am on Monday. There is a long queue of people including students in front of the hotel.
After Argentina lifted the cup in Qatar on Sunday night, preparations for making biryani had also started at the hotel in Pallimula, Thrissur. Shibu, an ardent Argentina fan, announced that he would give free biryani to a thousand people. But many people came in front of the hotel since Monday morning. By 11 o’clock it turned into a long queue. Shibu says no matter how many people come, he will serve biryani to everyone.
“People should leave happy, people will come and give biryani. This is the moment when Messi kissed the cup. We will break it” – said Shibu.
