The fire unfortunately claimed two victims: the octogenarian as well as one of his sons, in his forties, with a disability. Both deaths were confirmed by the Huy police zone. The other son who also lived in the house was able to get out. The origin of the fire was accidental. Apparently, the heating system of the bathroom would be at the origin of the drama.
The firefighters in the hutoise rescue zone received reinforcements from their counterparts in Liège who arrived on site with tank trucks. Because the power of the water in the neighborhood was weak.
The fire, the deployment of the rescue forces as well as the announcement of the death of the father and his son have, of course, created a stir in the neighborhood, in shock.
