A look at the performance of futures contracts for US stock indices before the opening

The futures contracts for US stock indices recorded a noticeable decline ahead of the opening of trading on Monday, in light of the continuing concerns regarding tightening monetary policy at a very strong pace during the coming period.

During the trading before the American session, the futures contracts for the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 0.57% and recorded regarding 29,500 points. Meanwhile, the futures contracts for the S&P 500 index decreased by 0.65% and recorded regarding 3,684 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index decreased by 0.57% and scored regarding 11,311 points.

Earlier, US stock indices closed significantly lower at the end of last week’s trading, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the trading session down by 486 points, or 1.6 percent, and recorded regarding 29,590 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index also fell by 1.7% to 3,693 points. Also, the Nasdaq Composite Index fell by 1.8% to 10,867 points.
