A luxurious catalog and a retrospective exhibition for the last 10 editions of “Friends of the Sea” are on display in Burgas

A bilingual catalog with award-winning works from 2004 to 2022 follows the development of the oldest non-capital biennial for contemporary Bulgarian fine art – the one in Burgas.

The luxury edition of “Friends of the Sea” covers the exhibitions from the last 10 initiatives and will be officially presented on April 5 – Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. at the “Petko Zadgorski” BHG. An exhibition of 66 works of art included in the catalog will also be exhibited in the hall. The bilingual Sea Friends album includes all the award-winning works of painting, graphics and sculpture that have taken part over the years. It aims to preserve and popularize contemporary Bulgarian art and follow its development over the past 20 years, reaching a wider audience in the country and abroad. The retrospection of the awarded works gives an opportunity to follow the movement and trends in the Bulgarian visual arts. The high-quality reproductions will be used to create a visualization for a virtual three-dimensional space. The virtual walk will immerse the viewer in the space and spirit of the works even following the project is completed. After its official presentation, the event will visit Dechko Stoev, Pomorie, Razgrad, and Dimitar Dobrovich, Sliven, with which BHG has partner relations. The publication is financed by the National Fund “Culture”.
