The community was regarding to lynch the perpetrator.
After an argument with his wife, a 34-year-old man named A. Pérez Mejía murdered his mother-in-law in an incident that occurred early Wednesday morning in La Fría, García de Hevia municipality, Táchira state.
Mejía, in a fit of rage, and presumably under the influence of narcotic substances, struck repeatedly, seriously injuring his wife, Ismary López Rojas, 22, who was seven months pregnant.
Fani Marisol López, 50 years old, Mejía’s mother-in-law, went in to defend her daughter, but the man attacked her, hitting her with a piece of wood on her face and body until she was killed.
The citizen was detained by officials from the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc) before being lynched by the community.
