A man in his thirties was shot dead on Saturday evening in a district of Marseille near a city affected by drug trafficking, we learned on Sunday from police sources confirming information from the regional daily La Provence.
The man, known for drug trafficking, according to a police source, was riding a scooter. He was chased by people in two cars who fired on him, according to testimonies reported to the police.
The victim, who had a criminal record, was “hit by several Kalashnikov shots in the head”, the Marseille prosecutor’s office confirmed to AFP.
The homicide was committed near Parc Corot, a city affected by cannabis trafficking, according to another police source.
A little later, the marine firefighters were called for a vehicle fire where two assault rifles were found, according to a police source.
