A multitasking “tanker” passed through the strait this Saturday in Boulogne

This Saturday, the petroleum product transport vessel Karpathos went up the strait to reach – as is often the case – Rotterdam. Built in Qingdao, China, then commissioned in June 2010 in Greece, this 6,248 tonne vessel is multitasking. It carries out maritime transport, but is also designed to provide fuel for other boats (bunkering technique) in a port as on the high seas, on board to board. It is therefore equipped with its own fenders that can be lowered along the hull by its crane.
