“After an unsuccessful resuscitation attempt, the paramedics were targeted by fireworks and had to withdraw”explains the spokesperson. “Police secured the scene. Our men made it through the rough night without physical injury, but psychologically it’s a different story.”
The spokesperson denounced the absurdity of a situation which sees rescuers unable to carry out their work in complete safety and sometimes even having to abandon their equipment on the spot in order to take shelter.
