“A scene of horror”: the burglary of a shelter causes excitement in France, several animals “massacred”

“During the night, people broke into the shelter, breaking down the doors and stealing the money collected for the cats’ care”reports the shelter, which adds: “But that’s not all, while going around our free cats, we found three cats who succumbed under the weight of the blows.”

As relayed by BFM TV, which quotes the owners of the place, another cat has “was found disembowelled”. Despite emergency intervention, the animal succumbed to its injuries on Monday. The total toll from the burglary therefore shows four dead cats and one missing.

“We are devastated”reacted the supporters of the refuge, evoking “a scene of horror”. A complaint has since been filed and an investigation is underway.

Also note the launch of a prize pool aimed at contributing to “autopsies of deceased cats, surgery and care of cats who need it, as well as coverage of material damage and repairs to be made to secure the shelter”. In a few hours, nearly 8,000 euros were raised.
