A shooting broke out in a shisha bar on rue Popincourt, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, on Monday evening. At 9:35 p.m., two individuals got out of a vehicle and shot two people seated on the terrace, a police source told BFMTV.

One person died and four others were slightly injured. Their vital prognosis is not engaged. One of the two perpetrators, injured in the head, was arrested. The second is armed and on the run. The hypothesis of a settlement of accounts is favored at this stage.

The motives of the two assailants are not known at this time. A medico-psychological cell will be “open as soon as possible” indicated the mayor of the borough, François Vaugelin, on his Twitter account.
