A truck caught fire on the E411 motorway near Bierges (Wavre). Several witnesses pressed our orange Alert Us button to let us know. The Walloon Brabant firefighters from the Braine-l’Alleud and Wavre stations were called to intervene around 3:55 p.m.
The facts occurred in the direction of Brussels towards Namur and caused several kilometers of slowdowns. The road had to be closed to traffic to facilitate the intervention of firefighters. Shortly before 5 p.m., some traffic was restored. The right and middle bands remained obstructed. Around 9:30 p.m., the roadway was closed once more.
