A wild boar, a hare and a raccoon dog were caught in a trap in the Mari Nature Reserve

The staff of the Bolshaya Kokshaga Nature Reserve use camera traps to obtain new information about the life of animals in the reserve. Only the use of camera traps allowed tracking such hidden animals as lynx, raccoon dog, learning the distribution patterns of wild boars, tracking the number of wolves and bears.

In August, a wild boar, a hare, and a raccoon dog were caught in a camera trap installed by state environmental protection inspector Nikolai Subbotin. The camera trap recorded two animals at night, and the hare during the day.

There are 10 camera traps installed on the territory of the Bolshaya Kokshaga Nature Reserve.
