Dr. Mabrouk Attia, the former dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Al-Azhar University, Sohag branch, received a surprising question from a caller regarding the relationship between her and her husband.
She said that her husband insults her every day in shocking terms, so the doctor asked her if she was deficient in her domestic duties towards him, and she told him that her husband practices the marital relationship with her every day even if she is sick, and she can no longer bear it.
For his part, Dr. Attia advised her to allow her husband to marry a second woman, “so that he might lead his tricks,” because he has the right to ask her for the relationship, and this is a legitimate request and not forbidden.
He pointed out that this is explained in the jurisprudence. A man who has energy and his wife is unable to meet that, has the right to marry another woman, if he is able, or fasting if he is not.
