Abortion rights activists are mobilizing in South Florida on Tuesday following the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion indicating that the justices plan to overturn the Roe vs. Wade who widely legalized abortion in the US.
“It’s very clear that this is the scenario that we’ve been talking regarding for quite some time, a blatant attack going following Roe once morest Wade, and the very real reality… that we’re going to be living in a post-Roe world. It’s dangerous, it’s scary,” Florida Senate Democratic Leader Lauren Book said in a phone interview.
The immediate plan is a 5 pm rally Tuesday at Esplanade Park, 400 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale, among many mobilization events planned across the country.
